Fence for Fun Nights
Ever wish you could try something before you buy it? We've heard your call!
Fence for Fun Night is a 1-1/2 hour class that starts with basic instruction and allows you to safely try the great sport of fencing. This is a great couples event, something new for the kids, or just a way to get hubby off the couch. Students must follow the safety rules and class format as explained in the instruction period.
Friday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m.

Beginning Fencing – Ages 8 & Older
A four week introduction to the sport of fencing. Students will learn the basic footwork skills including: the advance, the retreat, and the lunge. Beginning students will also learn basic blade work skills including: direct attack, beat attack, parry-4, and parry-6. They will learn fencing strip rules and hand judging skills. By the end of class, students will have fenced bouts with several opponents.

Intermediate Fencing – Ages 8 & Older
This four week course continues to build basic skills from the beginning set. Intermediate students will learn advanced footwork skills including crossover forward, crossover retreat, distance strategy, ballestra, disengage attack, and riposte.

Open Fencing – Ages 8 & Older
Open fencing allows the duelist to fence (dry or electric) against other club members, practice the skills learned in the first two classes, develop competitive strategies, enjoy the sport, and meet great people.
- Cost: $65.00/month (must have current club membership) and $10 equipment fee plus an annual $45.00 club membership fee.
- Membership fee includes a club patch, discounts on special classes, 10% discount on in-stock equipment (does not apply to special order equipment).
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30–10 p.m.
Club Membership, Drop-In Fees, and Other Important Stuff
- Annual club membership fee is $45.00 per season, September 1 through August 31
- Drop-in floor fee is $12; Pack of 10 is $100.
- Private instruction is $22.00 per half hour by appointment.
- Semi-private group lessons (3-5 students), $85 by appointment.
